About Steel Away BVI

As I was turning 60, I decided I wanted to sail again. I asked a friend if she wanted to join me, and off we went to the BVIs. We hired a captain for our first trip and had a great time. Almost 10 years later and we still laugh about . . . those are stories for the boat.

We decided that we preferred to have someone we know as captain, so a deal was struck. We 3, Madame DoSteel, Captain P, and the Little Ray of Sunshine, have since had many fine adventures.

In celebration of my 70th birthday, I acquired Steel Away with the hope of a grand adventure: 70 years, 70 islands, 70 days. In preparation for those 10 weeks aboard, we are sailing 4 weeks, and then next winter 6 weeks, and if we are loving it, we go for the 10 weeks to celebrate my 70th Birthday. Best part is sharing this with all of you. Each week we will say goodbye to guests and welcome new ones aboard. Once complete we will have visited islands from Guadeloupe to the Virgin Islands, to Puerto Rico, through the Bahamas, and around to the Keys. We will be posting pictures of our adventures along the way.
